Cabin Max Metz 30L: easyJet's free bag, to the centimetre
A 30-litre backpack cut to exactly 45 × 36 × 20 cm, with a suitcase-style opening, compression straps and an airmesh back, at 0.6 kg. Three or four nights of clothes on easyJet without paying for a bag; on Ryanair and Wizz Air it needs Priority.
Cabin Max cut the Metz 30L to easyJet's free under-seat allowance, 45 × 36 × 20 cm, and that single decision explains the bag. It opens like a small suitcase: the whole front panel unzips flat, so you pack in layers and see everything at the hotel. Two internal compression straps hold rolled clothes down and pull a half-full bag inside a smaller sizer. The back is airmesh-padded, there is a side bottle holder, a strap to slide it over a trolley handle, and a front organiser with a quick-access pocket. Cabin Max, a UK company, backs it with a three-year guarantee.
What it does not have is a laptop sleeve, and what it does not do is fly free on Ryanair or Wizz Air: their free bag is 40 × 30 × 20 cm, so the Metz 30L is a Priority bag there, and the main 10 kg cabin bag on Jet2.
